I did not get the clown quilt finished, but today is a new day. The block includes four flying geese. I have learned four different ways to construct these pieces. This method is from Billie Lauder’s book. Check it out!
This takes one large square and 4 small. These are 6 1/4 and 3 3/8. You can get all the details from her book o Quick Tricks.
Next, mark on the wrong side of the fabric. Use a ruler and draw lines 1/4 inch on each side of the diagonal.
Align two of the small blocks at opposite corners and sew down both lines.
Cut down the center.
Press to the dark sides.
Place the other two squares at each of the two light corners and sew along both lines. Then cut down the middle.
Press again to the dark and you have four flying geese with no waste.
